The Owner will keep the furniture in a reasonable condition during your stay, allowing for natural ageing over time. The reasonable condition of furniture and ageing will be judged compared to the condition of the property and furnishings at the beginning of your stay.

If the item belongs to you, or if you have approval from the Owner to remove an item (you can confirm this with your Host), please consider environmentally-friendly reuse and recycling options first, before looking to dispose of it.

You can search on your local council website for guides and instructions related to “recycling”, “reuse”, “unwanted furniture items”, “bulky waste collections”, or similar.

Depending on the size, and condition, of the unwanted item you may be able to have it collected by local authorities, charities, and related organisations for either safe disposal, or reuse by someone else, at no cost to you. Or, you may have to pay a collection fee if the item is large.

You may also consider online marketplaces such as Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, and others, that can be used to sell or give away items that others might be able to use.
